Sofia sat at the feet of what used to be her mother, her knees were pulled up to her and her. Her arms crossed on her knees and her head on them. Around her stood 5 other statues, two of which were smaller then the others appearing to be the size of a 9 and 4 year old. "I hate this, why couldn't I just be a normal girl?"

A faint, eerie glow could be seen growing brighter as the source made its way past the high stone wall.

Sofia slowly lifted her head, looking around her as she did this. She was making sure that there was nobody around her firs, by looking fore feet and legs. Finally as she completely looked up and looked around her eyes fell on the wall and the glow. She watched it for a moment before closing her eyes again, She was taking no chances.

A human shape, glowing brightly with white energies, slowly walked by the gate. He seemed to be off in his own little world, not even noticing that Sofia was there.

Psylocke floated down from the sky investigating a disturbance she'd felt with Cerebro. There were two mutants here and also many of the psychic signatures of the people there had dissapeared. In all honesty Betsy expected a fight, but when she arrived she was surprised by what she found.
She sensed guilt, pain, fear, and even agony. A pair of tormented souls suffering for the events that had transpired them. Betsy wouldn't pry into thier minds to see what had happened to them, she wasn't that kind of psychic. But she could feel the energy they gave off with their emotions. It was truly saddening for her, a story all too often repeated for mutants.
Psylocke approached Sofia first. "Hello there, I'm Betsy Braddock. Don't be afraid, you can open your eyes now." Betsy reassured the girl.

Sofia shook her head with out even raising it. "No, no I can't." She said, her voice shaky from both the tears she had shed and those that threaten now. "If, if I open them then, then." She swallowed. "Then this will be you." She said this as she put her hand on the shin of what used to be her mother.

''I see, then maybe this will help.'' Psylocke said pulling a pair of sunglasses from her waist-belt. They were a rather fancy pair of glasses anyone who knew Psylocke well knew that the former model understood how to dress in style should the occasion arise. She gently slid the glasses over the girl's face.

(OK I'm just going to assume that Psy got on her knees to do that. Seance Sofia's head was down.) Sofia felt the sunglasses slide on and she put a hand to them before raising her head. She still kept her eyes closed at first, unsure as to weather this would work. After a few seconds she slowly opened them.

''What's your name honey?'' Psylocke said being as sweet as possible normally that wasn't in her character but there was enough sadness here for one day so she wouldn't use her cold personality and risk causing more.

"Sofia, Sofia Harper." She said quietly and looked down again. She didn't want to see what see again what her powers did. She spoke again after a few seconds. "Why? Why did this have to happen?"

"Because Sofia you're a very special girl." Psylocke said softly. But strangely her lips weren't moving. "I've got powers too, and there are many like us who have special gifts. I'm psychic." She said moving from her knees to sit down beside the girl.

Sofia's head shot up, her eyes now quite open. "Your, your voice was in my head. That was, woe." She sighed before continuing. "Still, at least your powers don't dot this." She said pointing to another one of the statues.

Further down the street, the boy had been cornered by a mob of angry mutant haters. Upon hearing about the destruction of the town, the mob was out for blood.
"Leave me be" the boy warned, "unless you wish to be a pile of ashes."
The mob didn't bother to listen. If the mutie killed them then they would be martyrs to the cause, and if they killed him...well then there would be one less freak in the world. They surged forward to attack and the glowing boy quickly ran back the other way to get away from them.

"Nope, mine cut right to the chase and have the potential to leave nothing but little bits and pieces." Psylocke paused and looked behind her for a moment. "Wait here for a second." She said briefly before flying off into the air she could sense the rancid smell of hate in the air. Someone was in trouble it was the other mutant pressence she'd picked up on.
She landed on the ground right in front of the boy. "I suggest you all back off before you make me do something rash..." She warned pointing a finger at the mob. All the while purple psionic energy started radiating off of Psylocke furiously. She also focussed some of this energy at the tips of her fists summoning her patented psyshock blades.

"Oh great another mutie" one of the mob grumbled, "get out of our way and we might not hang you! Our beef is with the walking flashlight there. We got word he was the monster that blew up that town!" One of the mob members threw a large beer bottle at Psylocke, but it froze mid-air and shattered into dust.
