Kari was in a somewhat good mood, she'd just finnished recording some new video material for an upcomming cd she was to release soon. But she was eager to hear something about her brother. The Night Angel was filled with regret for the way she'd treated her brother, the stress had gotten ahold of her emparing her decisions. She desperately hoped to hear something good from her close friend Psylocke when she came through the door.
"Please tell me that you found him. I don't think I can take too much more of this suspense and anticipation, with all the other things I've got going on I'm going crazy." She said praying that she'd at least found something, seeing as how Betsy hadn't returned with Sakatoma
"Umm Kari I think you might want to cancel or pospone any further work on your career for a moment, you'll need some time, trust me." Psylocke said trying to maintain her calm, she too was affected by this great loss.
"What are you saying? I can't do that, you know as much as I do we need those funds to keep the school open. Why would you say something like tha-?" She was cut short by Psylocke's interruption.
"Just take a look at this..." Betsy handed Kari the burned and shreaded remains of the former X-Man's uniform. "This was all I found when I searched the park. I was onto his trail, but then it went completely cold, I couldn't even sense him anymore." Betsy's voice became shakey and broken as she tried to continue. "I found this laying on a giant scorch mark on the ground..."
"No, No... this cant be. This can't be his uniform, I will not accept this! You know how hard it would be to kill him! I wont believe it..!" Kari's voice became frantic as she exclaimed her disbelief.
"Kari, he's gone... I can't feel him anymore. You're just going to have to accept it, there's nothing more we can do. I'm sorry..." Psylocke replied with great sorrow filling her heart, before she turned to walk out of the office to leave the new leader to greave.
The door closed again, and the torrents of tears began to flow from Night Angel's eyes. She just couldn't believe it. "No..! It just can't, not him... The one time I wasn't there for him the way I should've and I lose him forever..." Kari was devastated, she hadn't felt pain like this since her parents were beheaded in old Japan. How would she ever get through this? It seemed like even though the school was full of students it seemed like she had nowhere to turn to.
