Kari sat alone outside the X-Mansion after arriving from Spain a couple of days ago. She'd been extremely quiet lately not talking to anyone. Of course Psylocke knew what went on and the team was going to have to decide on a new leader since Kari was obviously in no position for a popular vote.
Kari could only sit and quietly mourn at how completely and utterly her life had been altered. This was not how she'd planned things. Sure eventually she would have told the team what had happened. But not like this, not without already having released Jean, and the Professor.
The rustling of a few leaves was the only things that could be heard before a deep voice spoke from seemingly nowhere. "Oh, how the mighty have fallen."
"I may have fallen but that just means I'm close enough to Hell, to drag you there with me." Kari said standing up and extending her claws.
"I've not come for a fight." Essex said as he stretched out his hands and took hold of Kari's before bending down to gently kiss it. "I have sensed your misery, and am not unsympathetic to your plight. I know of what happened that night, and I believe I can be of service to you. All I ask is a small price."
"Small price? I don't suppose you mean 'amorous reciprocation' go jump into the sun."
"Tempting as your offer is, I want something much smaller... A sample of your DNA. That is all I ask."

"I don't know... I want to let them go. But you're asking me to give you something that you could use as a very powerful weapon." Kari said, her reluctance was very well founded.
"Oh, my dear girl. you've been used over and over again for so long. I would see that end, if you come with me, perhaps I could even help you not just free your two captives. But perhaps I could help you control that power as well, help you learn the most basic mechanics of it's functions." Nathaniel was doing his best to work his charms over on her. Truth be told if she accepted then either way, he won. On one side he could have her, on the other side her DNA.
Kari rubbed her forehead for a moment as she weighed the decision. "I must be losing my mind..." She mumbled. "Fine, I'll go with you. But if you can't do it I keep my DNA. If you succeed it's yours and we're done, we will be enemies again..."
"As you wish, my lady." Nathaniel said as they disappeared into the night without a trace.
